A road trip takes us through the Pan American Highway into the city of Alajuela. Once there, we will visit the Juan Santamaría Monument and the famous Mango Park. As we head towards the volcano, we will stop for a brief explanation on our aspects regarding Costa Rican coffee, our “golden bean”, after which we will resume our trip through fern, flower and strawberry farms.

You will be witness to a noticeable change in temperature and vegetation, preparing us for the exuberance and beauty of the cloud forest in the Poás Volcano National Park.

Once we reach the volcano, and if the weather conditions allow it, an amazing view of the main crater and its sulfur fumaroles will be possible. A short hike on a trail will also lead to the beautiful Botos Lagoon as we learn about the different ecosystems in the park.
