You will get the chance to observe Cartago’s Ruins, while at the same time learn about this colonial city’s history and the time when it was Costa Rica’s capital city. From this point, you will travel all the way up to the Irazú Volcano, one of the highest peaks in the country. The scenery from this point and all the way through this trip are simple breathtaking and from the volcano’s summit, if the weather conditions are right you might even have the opportunity to observe both the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean at the same time.
This trip will also take you to Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí, a beautiful zone covered with tropical forests, where a boat trip will let you discover Costa Rica’s natural treasures while you glide through the river’s water.
At the end of this boat trip, a delicious costa rican style lunch will be waiting for you on a private property that will let you enjoy hiking through and and visit a butterfly farm.
On the way back to the hotel, you will go through the exuberant Braulio Carrillo National Park. This park covers over 116.000 acres of land that hold multiple habitats, including primary tropical forests and cloud forests among others.
